Day 49: Still in Darwin.

Good morning All from sunny Darwin where it is a balmy 26 degrees at 9:15 am, I can't say how much nicer the weather is in Darwin, it's great.
Jim & Gail arrived in Darwin the end of June, we caught up with them at the Coolalinga caravan park, they also are having a great time.                                                                                                                                                   Friday the 1st July was Northern Territory Day and we caught up with Joan & Ruedi again to watch the fireworks at the Berry Springs Recreation Park, they were spectacular, I would go so far as to say they were the best I have ever watched, it may have been because we were so close to them.

Joan, Ruedi, Nev and Me at the Novotel for my birthday.
Nev, Me, Jim, Gail & Kelly @ the restaurant for my Birthday Dinner

We had a good night at the Novotel, it was a little upmarket from the van.  The next morning we were up early for Nev to take the car for a wheel alignment, we booked out of the Novotel when he came back and we drove to Stokes Hill Wharf and the wave pool.  The following photos show the area.

Since July 6th we have been to golf where I have improved my score from the 1st game in Humpty Doo, I have gone from the perfect score of 90 for 9 holes to 86 and last week to 78, maybe by the time we leave Darwin I should have a respectable score.

That's all for now so stay warm, stay well and eep on smiling.
Love to All

Day 48: Sunny Darwin

Hi All, I have finally slowed down enough to share what we have been doing, it's been quite hectic the last few weeks but we have had a lot of fun.  Joan & Ruedi arrived in Darwin 21st June and we have been to Mindil Markets on the Thursday night with them, Monday we drove to Wagait Beach and Mandorah Point where we had lunch at the pub that was a nice day out.  We decided whilst there that one day we would catch the ferry across to Cullen Bay.

The colour of the rocks on Wagait beach are    amazing, the photos don't really show it

We have also had a birthday party to attend, it was Emily's 8th birthday on the 2nd July.  Emily asked if I would make her a butterfly cake and we all know I'm a sucker for making cakes, here are the photos of the day.
