I know it's been a long time since our last update and I apologise for that but we didn't have all that much to tell.
We left Darwin on Wednesday 24/8/11 not too early as we were only going as far as Katherine and a little bit more, our first night stop was a free camp @ Limestone Creek 58 klm SW of Katherine, it is a lovely little spot as you can tell by the photos.
We stopped at Timber Creek for fuel where we pulled into the first service station which turned out to be beneficial to us as the next service station which was only about 30 mtrs up the road was 7 cents/ltr more than we paid so that was a saving for us.
The next place we stopped was Victoria River Roadhouse where we walked back onto the bridge to take photos, they are spectacular, it was also where we saw our first wild fresh water crocodile.
Not sure if these tracks are crocodile or kangaroo? |
Some of the wildflowers |
There are fish in here, remember that I was on a bridge 8 mts above. |
Our next night stopover was another free camp @ a place called Saddle Creek, where we had the pleasure of meeting up with another couple that had stayed at the sameplace as us the night before.

That's all for today I'll be back tomorrow to fill in the gaps, 'til then take care and stay warm
